To make words and take them from fellow players is an idea which has been around since Victorian times in various forms. As a family, we have played it for many years and I decided to develop the game into the SNATCH of today. Working out the letter distribution was the first task but once I cottoned on to the codebreakers of World War II who had all spent years working out the frequency of letters in the English language, I used their research. The rules are the ones I like to play by but can lead to fast and furious argument - all part of the game. The look was thought up by an architect friend of mine who has never designed a game before - which is probably why it doesn't look like any other game.
